You will join a team with great culture and collaboration and gain exposure to stakeholders and managers cross Volvo Cars. You will be part of our SW Execution team at Software Engineering Office, a team of highly skilled senior program and process managers, that are responsible for the complete SW deliveries and activities cross Engineering.

 What You’ll Do

The Software Engineering Quality Leader will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across all developing units at Volvo Cars Engineering. This role involves identifying quality gaps, implementing strategic improvements, and ensuring product and organizational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

You will lead SW&E/E quality work for our future and current products. Together in a team of unit quality leaders, for each functional unit at Engineering, you set the strategy and tactics to ensure quality cross platforms for the complete SW&E/E tech stack.

You will:

  • Identify and analyze quality gaps in operations, processes, and product development, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement plans, monitoring progress and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to promote a culture of quality and operational excellence and provide leadership and mentorship to the teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Report on quality metrics and key performance indicators to senior management and when needed drive larger quality issues for the complete SW&E/E product to resolution.

Who You Are 

You have long and well acknowledged proven experience in quality leadership roles, preferably in automotive software development or a related industry. You have at least 10 years’ experience from embedded SW development.

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes including quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address quality gaps effectively and drive them to resolution.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Proficiency in software testing tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
