Job Summary:

This opening is to fill a Senior level RFIC Validation/DVT Engineer role for the Microelectronics Department of the Electrical Engineering Center within the Raytheon business. This position is for the El Segundo location and is onsite. The candidate will be involved with test plan development/execution, bench setup, and equipment/setup calibration for characterization, validation, data analysis, and test reports for state-of-the-art RFICs/MMICs.  Adherence to best test practices as well as high quality validation techniques, and completion of projects within budget and schedule targets are expected.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Bring up, validate, and characterize new or existing state-of-the-art RFICs/MMICs
  • Develop bench setup and test methods to evaluate device performance
  • Calibrate equipment/setup to enable accurate RF measurements
  • Develop scripts to automate tests
  • Analyze and report results

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience OR an advanced degree with 2 years of prior relevant experience is typically required.
  • Hands-on experience in microwave/RF/Mixed-signal device bring-up and validation
  • Detailed understanding of RF/mm Wave circuit components
  • Working knowledge of test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators
  • Thorough understanding of S-parameters and compression Proficient in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB programming measurements
  • Develop characterization plans and procedures, evaluation hardware and test reports
  • "The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance."

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of phase noise, NF, intercept point, and de-embedding highly desirable
  • Experience automating tests and data acquisition highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of RF power meters and analytical probers
  • Excellent problem solving and planning skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and ownership
  • Understanding of BIST and Scan testing a plus
  • Background and experience in software/software control of lab equipment

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 176,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
