Job Summary:

Raytheon Self Protect Systems creates some of the most advanced radar protection systems in the world. Our team works onsite in Goleta, CA that supports and tests these state-of-the-art systems protecting our war fighters. Our team members are inspired, organized, collaborative, and adaptable.

Test Technicians work in a production environment using testing techniques to evaluate circuit boards, electromechanical modules, and RF Payloads and systems. You will have excellent communications skills, work well in active multitasking team environments with competing goals from multiple programs and organizations. Our Technicians are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, smock, and gloves. All work will be done on 1st shift although test specifically has some team members that will be on 2nd shift. This is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) position. Over time is frequently required.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:

  • Using microscopes and hand-held instruments like, tweezers, screwdrivers, and torque wrenches.
  • Using a variety of test equipment's: Network and Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscope, Signal Generators, Power Meters, or Digital Multimeters.
  • Handling electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive items. Testing of high voltage items and know safety protocols.
  • Working with fiber optic cables and devices.
  • use a computer to access work instructions, make technical calculations as part of test, timekeeping, perform data entry and complete on-line training.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
  • Min of 1 year experience with electrical schematics.
  • Min of 1 year experience with RF Testing.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understand Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) and FOD reduction/prevention methods.
  • Associate degree in electronics and 8 years equivalent military experience is preferred.

The salary range for this role is 50,000 USD - 120,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
