We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Technical Support Engineer within the Joint Battlespace Systems product line on the Woomera Test Range Support Services (WTRSS) Program. The Woomera Test Range, located in South Australia, is the world’s largest overland test environment, comparable to the size of England, and is one of Australia’s most critical national security assets. Raytheon Australia’s integrated range solution provides the Australian Defence Force with one of the most advanced test, experiment, and training environments in the world. Working within the engineering team you will contribute to the success of the WTRSS Program through providing specialty engineering functions on a variety of leading-edge equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general engineering support to meet production requirements, raise and progress engineering change proposals, deviations, and modification orders, process special technical instructions and conduct defect and maintenance deficiency investigations

  • Management of procedures and processes utilised to govern all activities within program scope that is required to support the delivery of the program

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements that govern the program requirements.

  • Conduct or facilitate investigations into any incidents or breaches of procedures, plans, and processes

  • Monitoring the progression of all engineering tasks for delivery to closure, ensuring all technical data is actioned to the satisfaction of the customer within the agreed timeframes

  • Optimise reliability and maintainability by identifying current defect and maintenance deficiency reports trends

  • Provides routine guidance and mentoring to the engineering team members ensuring current and future team resource requirements are met

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 9 years relevant post-qualification experience required

  • High level of computer literacy coupled with strong Microsoft Office application skills

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills essential

  • Use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques

  • Demonstrated experience with electronic, electrical or Radar/Optics systems (Desirable)

  • Previous exposure to Defence Systems Engineering processes and tools (e.g. DOORS)

  • Experience in a Defence related industry is highly desirable
