As a member of our elite Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team, we want you to develop solutions to protect the Warfighter’s technology advantage. Systems Security Engineering creates holistic security solutions leveraging Software Assurance, Risk Management Framework, Authorization to Operate, Vulnerability Scanning, and system hardening.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Your day-to-day activities may include:

  • Supporting the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies

  • Linux Bash scripting, Python scripting and Perl scripting

  • Conducting ACAS and STIG scans, creating patch documentation for customer

  • Defining security development and test efforts implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software component

  • Understanding and integrating cybersecurity development activities

  • Supporting the development of Risk Management Framework (RMF) documents and controls validation testing for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations

  • Performing analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results

  • Conducting cybersecurity audits to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance of the security posture

  • Conducting technical and nontechnical trade studies

  • Understanding, and compliance with, DoD technology release and export licensing policies

  • Performing Task Lead duties (e.g., task planning, product owner)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience related to Systems/Software Engineering architecture, requirements, determination, development, and implementation, Cyber Security Engineering and architecture

  • Experience in Systems Engineering, including any of the following: System Requirements definition and analysis, System Test and Analysis, Systems Engineering Studies, NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)

  • Experience in systems security including but not limited to various computer hardware and software S/W operating system and application solutions in both a stand-alone and in LAN/WAN configurations and / or Security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems

  • Cyber Certifications in accordance with DoDD 8570/DoDD 8140 such as CISSP, GSLC, CEH

  • An Active and Current DoD Top Secret/SCI with Poly. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Linux Bash scripting,  Python scripting and Perl scripting experience

  • PowerShell and Ansible Playbooks experience

  • Knowledge of information security toolsets including anti-virus, Vulnerability Assessment, host-based or endpoint security solutions, Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and centralized auditing tools

  • Knowledge of Platform One DevSecOps environment

  • Knowledge of Host Based Security System (HBSS) /  Endpoint Security Services (ESS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) / Tenable Security Center and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).

  • Experience in the field of Systems Engineering, including any of the following: System Requirements definition and analysis, System Test and Analysis, Systems Engineering Studies.

  • Security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies

  • Experience with IT and/or network and system security administration, including operating system security configuration and account management best practices for UNIX, MS Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and CISCO systems

  • Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and Experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, management, and customers in a team environment

  • Critical Technology or Critical Program Information (CPI) identification or analysis

  • Familiar with NIST RMF, as described in NIST Special Publication 800-37

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
