Collins is looking for a systems engineer with a strong background in DevSecOps and strong knowledge of our Fusion platforms. This engineer will be working with our systems team to develop and deploy our automated test pipeline for system level testing. The engineer will also work with existing programs to help teams adopt the new pipeline and convert their testing to our automated test framework.

This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities:

  • Be part of a multi-disciplined team to develop the next generation Systems-level graphical automation solution. 
  • Perform hands-on integration of systems-level automation solution to new and existing programs
  • Be obsessively passionate, inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways.
  • Collaborate with product design teams, Digital Technology, Enterprise Digital Engineering organizations, and the Engineering tools organizations to enable adoption and transition of developed techniques.
  • Work hand-in-hand with teams across Avionics to influence and adopt Sandbox technology.
  • Outbrief the technical capability and project performance to the business units and executive leadership on a regular basis. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.  
  • Systems engineering lifecycle experience. Requirements capture, allocation, traceability, validation, and verification.
  • Previous experience developing systems-level test cases and test procedures incorporating automation capabilities. 
  • Experience in writing software requirements, software design and implementation, functional and integration testing 
  • Developing software-level test cases and test procedures incorporating automation/DevSecOps capabilities.
  • Experience with modern scripting languages (e.g. Robot, Java, Python, PowerShell, etc.) and automation
  • Experience with systems-level integration and testing
  • Be able to successfully multi-task.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with Pro Line 21, Fusion, Business & Regional and Air Transport aircraft avionics is a plus.
  • Experience with computer vision tools like OpenCV, YOLO, PIL, Tensorflow, or PyTorch. 
  • Experience with technologies related to Deep Learning, Neural Networks and Artificial Intelligence.
