Performance improvement responsibilities:

  • Improve overall performance of attributed key suppliers using Collins continuous improvement program and tools.
  • Drive thorough supplier Quality investigations through a zero defect mind-set enabling mistake proofed and read across corrective actions for direct, non-detection and systemic causes.
  • Deploy Zero Defect Plan methodology at suppliers to identify additional opportunities to prevent future escapes.
  • Implement Quality Clinic system at suppliers to support efficient sub-tier, internal and external escapes resolution
  • Assess and risk mitigate supplier capacity readiness by understanding Collins program needs, engaging key stakeholders, performing assessment, establishing and tracking action plan.
  • Identify supplier’s necessary lean transformation activities such as VSM, Kaizen, Set-up Reduction, etc. and train and support them accordingly.
  • Perform Manufacturing Process Reviews with cross functional team to risk mitigate processes and validate conformity to requirements.
  • Comprehend complex issues and overcome them through structured tactical and strategic activities
  • Go beyond own pre-determined responsibilities whenever required by the Business environment

Communication responsibilities

  • Lead periodic performance reviews at suppliers for the purpose of driving down escapes, PPM, and overdue deliveries.
  • Manage supplier relationship to gain and maintain appropriate level of engagement.
  • Ensure coordination with other Collins functions such as Quality representatives, Manufacturing Engineers, Transition Managers, etc.
  • Communicate continuously on various activities through clear and concise materials (mails, PPTs, etc.)
  • Lead or contribute to various executive level presentations

Work experience

  • Preference will be given to candidates with supplier Quality or Development experience.
  • Expertise in Lean manufacturing / have deployed lean tools in manufacturing areas. Green/Black belt certification is a plus.                 
  • Successfully resolved complex performance issues in a manufacturing area.
  • Has lead VSM / Kaizen tools with proficiency.
  • Is used to work within Aerospace regulation/requirements environment/constraints such as AS9100

Other requirements

  • Flexibility to frequently (>75%) travel anywhere in SE Asia.
  • Ability to communicate properly to any level of major organizations; from operators to general managers.
  • Strong at demonstrating to a team the necessary changes/improvement needed.
  • Auditor and/or trainer experience is a plus.
  • Detail oriented with proactive curiosity / in the know
  • Take ownership, proactively take actions, go beyond task completion
  • Passionate with desire to add value, banish “check box” mentality.
  • Rigorous at driving action plans to closure and at maintaining routines for a given process.
  • Pragmatic thinking, efficient, result oriented
