Job Summary:
The Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) structures team is looking for an experience structures engineer to perform structural analysis on military engine programs. Responsibilities of the position include performing analyses to demonstrate durability and structural integrity of MSEN components, participating on multi-disciplined integrated product teams, and presenting analysis results to both PW leadership and customer representatives. Hardware to be analyzed includes bearing compartments, gearboxes, lube pumps, oil tanks, tubes, mount brackets, and ducts.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis in support of all phases of product life cycle including preliminary design, detailed design, development testing and validation, certification, delivery support, and post engine production & service support.

Use finite element analysis and classical methods to evaluate for strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.

Monitor MSEN component health during engine validation testing (engine and rig), perform test data-reduction and analysis, and confirm test objectives are met.

Participate as the structure’s representative on multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight.

Work to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.

Document analysis results and present conclusions to PW management and external customers.

Travel less than 10%
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering
-
5+ years of engineering experience, OR an Advanced Degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or actively pursuing an advanced degree.

Strong communication and task coordination skills.

Prior industry experience with structural analysis
