Job Description:

The Alternate Work Week (AWW) engineer will have ownership and accountability for all production related Structures activities primarily covering Compressor Rotors and Cases across Military and Commercial programs. This is an excellent opportunity for increased hardware proficiency across numerous engine platforms. There is also the additional opportunity for proficiency expansion by supporting Turbine Rotors, Fan Bypass Ducts and Nozzle hardware initiatives.  AWW work shift is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6AM to 6PM. This is a highly visible and excellent career opportunity that will provide exposure across the CSE (Cold Section Engineering) and HSE (Hot Section Engineering) organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing structural analyses to enable hardware and engine deliveries. Question our processes to become more efficient and more effective.
  • Take responsibility for assigned tasks and drives responsive execution of structural analyses to meet task and schedule requirements. Coordinate with teams to meet task technical and schedule requirements.
  • Execute structural analysis on (not limited to) Compressor Rotor and Case components via hand calculations, 2D and 3D finite element modeling, using the latest P&W Engineering Standard Work, programs, and engineering judgement.
  • Oversee, support and mentor outsource engineers to maintain outsource technical quality and nurture their proficiency.
  • Support and collaborate on proactive redesigns to improve the producibility of engine hardware.
  • Document analyses and present results and associated recommendation to integrated part teams, management, and customers.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Basic Qualifications:

  • ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited bachelor’s degree in  engineering and 5 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree in engineering and 3 years of engineering experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in ANSYS or equivalent structural analyses programs
  • Experience with manufacturing and product development in the aerospace industry
  • Ability to propose innovative and dependable solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Strong focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to completion.
  • Dependably capable of handling multiple tasks across various hardware and engine programs at a time.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. Clear and concise communicator with emphasis on tailoring to appropriate audience.

Travel: Less than 25%
