Senior Software Systems Engineer - Space Suit (Hybrid)
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Primary Responsibilities:
- System architecture & decomposition
- Development of Concepts of Operations, requirements, & trade studies
- System modeling, analysis, & optimization
- System interoperability & interface definition
- System integration & test
- Definition & execution of system verification, validation, & qualification
- System test data analysis, & reporting
- Product Requirements/specifications definition for hardware/software development
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership of teams & engineering projects
- Working knowledge of full life-cycle system development
- Experience on hardware development program
- Electrical system modeling/simulation, including steady state & transient analysis
- Ability to effectively collaborate on complex technical scope & obtain design approach consensus
- Ability to iteratively develop solutions, define & propose design approaches, and collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) & across stakeholders
- Data science & analysis
- Experience identifying & quantifying key performance metrics of systems
- Desire to help others grow & excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent writing, communication, & math skills
- Experience with software requirements creation, interpretation, derivation, and disposition.
- NASA-based requirements experience preferred.
- Experience with the software design life cycle
- Experience designing & integrating complex software systems
- Experience performing software system development, integration, architecture.
- Interface testing of hardware and software. Test plans and test procedure development.
- Experience with software verification and validation (V&V)
- Experience with software-related data organization methodologies
- Experience with client/server and pub/sub software organization
- Experience with software modeling using model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with Agile software development process
- Experience with software development configuration management (CM), continuous integration/development (CI/CD)
- Desired experience with hardware in the loop (HITL) software deployment environment
- Working knowledge of ARP4754 or similar standards
- Experience leading peer reviews, assessing technical debt, and identifying contingency plans.
- Experience with C, Embedded C, C++, Python, SysML, Cameo System Modeler, MBSE, Jenkins, Jira, Jama, Matlab, Simulink, LabView
- Experience with Linux, Bare Metal, & Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) environments.
