Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines:  Reliability System Safety and Supportability.

Job Summary:

Raytheon has an exciting new Sr. Reliability Engineer role working on Electronic Warfare (EW) systems at our facility in Goleta, CA located near beautiful Santa Barbara, CA. This is a great opportunity for an experienced reliability engineer to work on challenging projects, utilize their reliability and system safety skills and continue to grow their career.

As a Sr. Reliability Engineer, you’ll partner with experienced RMSS engineers to learn all areas and work products within the Life Cycle Engineering discipline. As a member of this team, you’ll perform systems engineering tasks associated with the reliability, maintainability, supportability and safety (RMSS) of military systems. You’ll use your engineering knowledge to learn the theory behind how electronic warfare systems work and will use this information to influence system design and development.

The selected candidate will be required to work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/ assignments and will set objectives for their own job area to meet the objectives or goals of projects and assignments.

This position is based in Goleta, CA and is posted as ONSITE.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Analyzing engineering drawings
  • Influencing product maintainability design decisions
  • Helping to ensure that system design meets operational requirements.

As part of the systems engineering team supporting the design of new systems you’ll also perform reliability engineering tasks including:

  • Reliability modeling
  • Allocation and prediction
  • Parts stress and derating analyses
  • FRACAS processes
  • FMECA
  • Failure Diagnosis and Data/Trend Analyses
  • Reliability Demonstration Testing on multiple programs
  • Developing System Safety plans and Hazard Analysis Reports

This role may require occasional CONUS travel

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
  • Experience with Reliability engineering
  • Experience developing failure reporting and/or corrective action reports
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability predictions for military systems
  • Experience using reliability modeling software
  • Experience developing System Safety plans and Hazard Analysis Reports
  • Experience developing technical documentation and training materials
  • Experience using Earned Value Management System
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Excellent communications, organizational, and customer interface skills
  • Experience giving presentations

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 176,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
