Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to support the manufacture and delivery of some of the most advanced and highly utilized aircraft technology in aviation. You will support deliveries for Boeing and Airbus aircrafts. You will also lead projects and make highly visible contributions to development, modifications, applications, maintenance, quality evaluations, control systems, and protocols.

This position will be located onsite in San Marcos, TX.

Eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Quality data and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support reduction in DPU, concessions, internal/external escapes, and scrap using RCCA and Continuous Improvement Tools and lead CAB meetings to support defect reductions.

  • Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.

  • Fully support Quality Improvement projects/events as either a leader of the project/event or as a support member.

  • Develop sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sampling methods and create and modify Quality Plans for application to subassemblies and major assemblies.

  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits and lead preventive actions and application of mistake proofing into production and quality processes.

  • Create and review product First Article Inspection (FAIs).

  • Develop Standardization in Quality Assurance process improvement tools and methodologies.

  • Prepare and present reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and make recommendations.

  • Interface with shop floor mechanics and support staff, with multiple levels of leadership, as well as with the customer.

  • Provide training on Quality topics to shop floor team as required.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required • https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Experience using AS9145 APQP / PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow Diagrams and Control Plans, etc.).

  • Experience supporting AS9100 Quality Management System requirements (e.g. Non-Conformity Metrics Management, Risk Analysis, Audit support, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with 8D, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis, and SPC analysis.

  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI or similar data analytic software's.

  • Ability to assimilate, analyze, and present data to leaders, customers, and peers.

  • Excellent communications skills and ability to interface with internal and external customers as well as all levels of personnel.
