We have an exciting onsite opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer! Pratt & Whitney is seeking a proactive, goal oriented, and detail focused Senior Project Engineer to lead an Integrated Product Team in Compression Systems Engineering.  The selected candidate will provide leadership to the Fan Module team for Adaptive Military Engines.   In this role you will be responsible for development program task execution.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead an Agile Scrum team to meet task and technical requirements (may be either Product Owner or Scrum Master)
  • Identify and address project problems, analyze data gathered, develop solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance.
  • Work closely with IPT members and authorities on part development and recommend product improvements as well as communicate status and technical content to CIPT, upper Pratt & Whitney management, and external customers.
  • Perform Control Account Manager duties for task: Track progress, identify and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project budget and schedules to ensure smooth project operations.
  • Initiate and manage hardware procurement/industrial effort as the engineering technical contact as well as perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans
  • Mentor and help develop other Project Engineers on the team as well as actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Aerospace/ jet engine industry experience, previous gas turbine compressor experience and design development experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with gas turbine engine static hardware
  • Experience in an IPT Leader role or similar task leadership position
  • Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project, Dassian, Primavera
  • Experience in Agile Project Management, specifically Scrum. Experience working with Jira software package.
  • Demonstrated strong team and strategic leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer focus.
  • Demonstration of skills consistent with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations.
