Collins Aerospace, Mission Systems, is seeking a Program Manager (PM) to be primarily responsible for multiple small to medium NPI (new product introduction) development programs in the area of advanced fuel sensing. The PM is responsible for total program performance including project execution, business goals and customer relationships. The PM must understand and participate in the engineering of extensive design processes and be able to lead a cross-functional technical team. This unique PM role requires working closely with the advanced technology and business development teams to bring new products to customers and customers to our new products. Primary responsibility is to bring technology readiness and manufacturing readiness levels across the valley of death to level 9 for new fuels technologies. The PM will guide program performance including execution, financial goals, risk management, schedules, and all other contractual and/or internal commitments.
The PM will advise management (and/or customers) through briefing packages, EACs, and technical proposals, Gate Reviews and Program Plans accurately reflect the program's health and must be achievable. Since there are generally no direct reports to the PM in a matrixed organization, the PM must have good communication skills to engage the team and functional management in order to achieve results. This will include working with section and department managers to ensure the team members have the correct technical skills to execute the program. The PM must continue to evaluate the needed skills and develop high performing teams. Given the size and complexity of these efforts, delegation and supervision of work products is necessary to ensure technical results as well as cost and schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:

Accountable new product development related to fuel sensing systems inclusive of pursuit and order capture, design and development, and transition to manufacturing

Participate in long-term strategic business planning and roadmapping for the next generation of products

Assigned as the chair of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) accountable for managing the contract lifecycle, cost schedule, performance and on-time delivery of programs

Serves as the face of the organization to customers, both internal and external

Ability to self-start, motivate, multi-task, address multiple issues and set priorities

Must be reliable, organized, flexible and detail oriented.

Excellent business sense to proactively identify and resolve problems and issues quickly and efficiently

Has Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for a specified value stream or group of value streams within a business segment or portfolio

Demonstrate program compliance with the Collins Management System (CMS)
Basic Qualifications:
-
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

10+ years of direct work experience in program management, systems engineering, or related experience

Experience developing new business capture activities and winning new business

IMS and EVMS implementation and execution, to include meeting EAC requirements

Must be able to travel in support of business execution and growth requirements
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with fuel systems development and/or design

Minimum 5 years’ experience successfully managing technology development programs and Engineering and Development Programs

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is preferred
