Our Systems Integration & Test team is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to plan, manage, and lead execution of EW /Radar systems integration, verification, and validation activities in both the lab and field environments. The select person will be responsible for program compliance, with systems engineering IV&V processes.

Together with the Chief Engineer (CE) and Program Management (PM), they will work to establish the program IV&V organization, schedule, and milestones. Work travel is required for this position. This is a hybrid position that will require travel between Raytheon sites located in El Segundo, Ca, Point Mugu, Ca, and Goleta, Ca.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Lead the development of test plans, test procedures and test reports.
  • Lead IV&V activities for the ALR-67(V)3 Performance Based Logistics (PBL) Lab in Goleta, Ca.
  • Support ALR-67(V)3 IV&V efforts out of Goleta, Point Mugu, and El Segundo, Ca facilities.
  • Build test bench and develop software to perform ALR-67(V)3 subassembly Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP).
  • Train and mentor current engineering staff on ALR-67(V)3 IV&V activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Related systems engineering experience in EW or Radar programs.
  • Prior leadership experience with cross-disciplinary teams to coordinate multi-faceted technical, logistic, and security operations in a complex multiple stakeholder environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present data and explain results to subcontractors, senior level executives and customers.
  • Formal Systems Engineering (V-model; requirements definition, design, development, I&T, V&V) experience.
  • Familiarity with RF/Microwave principles and methodologies to support developing and conducting tests in laboratories and field environments.
  • Expertise with ALR-67(V)3 Radar Warning Receiver (RWR)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s / Ph.D. degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.

Additional Information:

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. 

This is a temporary position of an undetermined length. 

The salary range for this role is 59.13/hr – 124.52/hr; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training and key skills.
