Join the Mission Systems Tactical Communication Systems Department and help shape communication solutions for militaries around the world!  We work to be the most trusted source of communications for military and defense applications. As a Systems Engineering professional, you will design and develop military software-defined radio products covering all spectrum bands. We are looking for Systems Engineers who are interested in experiencing all elements of the communication design process including system-level trades, requirements development, communication system architecture and design, performance assessment, integration and test, verification, validation, and sustainment of fielded products.  

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assessment of market needs and operational concepts and decomposing into system architectures. 
  • Design at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. 
  • Direct customer support for installation and integration of radio products deployed on airborne and ground-based platforms around the world.  
  • Capturing customer requirements and operational concepts to be translated into a system architecture and design. 
  • Functional breakdowns, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. 
  • Decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and develops verification criteria and plans for the requirements. 
  • Heading technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation events of total system solutions, while maintaining cost and schedule and balancing risks. 
  • Coaching and mentoring of peers, and communication
  • Definition and implementation of systems engineering strategies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR 
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required. 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
