We are looking for an experienced Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN. Here at Raytheon, you will work on cutting edge technology and contribute to programs that save lives and enable the freedoms we enjoy.
As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, typical job functions include:
- Participation on collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques and tools to plan, design, develop, test, and integrate real-time embedded software products. Products include software running on real time embedded hardware (General Purpose Processors, Digital Signal Processors, etc.) as well as the associated diagnostic, analysis, and support application software.
- Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, flight test, and field support.
- Technical Leadership of a software team, ownership of software product providing an innovative solution that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Clearance and Citizenship Requirement:
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
- Current and Active DoD SECRET or higher clearance on day one of employment
Required Skills/Experience:
- At least 10 years of relevant professional work experience with Software Engineering, preferably in real-time product development environment.
- Software development experience with C, C++, or related languages.
- Experience with UNIX, Linux, VxWorks, INTEGRITY, SYSBIOS, or other RTOS.
- Experience spanning software design, implementation, testing, and system integration of large systems.
- Experience leading a software team, SCRUM Master or similar.
- At least some experience developing embedded software for sensors, algorithm development, signal or data processing.
- Experience developing and integrating OMS-based architectures is highly preferred.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support system integration and test, customer events, and related external activities.
- Typically requires a completed bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution.
- Must be able to work onsite at our Ft. Wayne, IN Development Center.
