This principal project engineer position is for a senior professional engineer with demonstrated expertise in applying technology to manufacturing processes and systems in an electronics manufacturing facility. The work will include researching new technology, identifying and scoping projects, developing budgets and project plans, leading technology deployments, and interfacing with leadership in support of our industry 4.0 transformation.
Our ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing support and process development in an electronics assembly factory. Experience with process automation and machine connectivity, along with effective project management and communication skills are critical for success in this role.
This project leader will become the focal and subject matter expert for executing our strategic plan. This is a high visibility role with opportunity to advance into a director or engineering fellow role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Applies engineering knowledge and collaborates with other organizations to improve manufacturing operations.
- Effectively communicates and harmonizes operations and technical leadership on proposals and active projects.
- Takes ownership and is accountable for all phases of project execution from concept development through deployment.
- Plans, prioritizes, and executes multiple engineering projects.
- Leads cross functional teams to ensure effective deployment to live production.
- Prioritizes tasks to ensure that the team’s overall resources are used effectively and that deadlines are met.
- Maintain current knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and develop related project proposals.
- Travel as needed for projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in manufacturing support in a high-mix factory.
- IIOT deployment experience.
- Ability to work across the organization vertically and horizontally.
- Effective written and verbal and communications skills.
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
