As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be managing and developing systems on a global scale to help the Aviation industry move undisrupted. You will be responsible for the messaging data in transit to ensure the on-time arrival for you, your friends and families, and all passengers flying around the globe. The systems you will manage support over 1,500 aviation customers, transmitting over 75 million messages daily across the Aviation community. When working at Collins Aerospace, you will be working as a Senior Network Systems Engineer within the ARINC Global Network (AGN) Implementation team. AGN is a globally distributed network that services a community of interest within the transportation industry. With nearly 2200 routers and eight (8) core nodes worldwide, we have a need for a regional network engineer to provide timely response to customers and business units. This position will be based out of the Annapolis, Maryland office in the US.
What You will do:
- Manage multiple projects from start to finish
- Directly interfacing with customers
- Order and activate WAN circuits; troubleshoot if necessary
- Procure equipment per project requirements
- Configure equipment according to set design
- Create cutover/migration plans for major activities
- Schedule and perform cutovers with customers
- Update documentation (change orders, asset records, circuit records and diagrams)
- Provide specialized support to AGN customers
- Provide customized utilization analysis and reports to business units and/or customers
- Provide pre-sales support for multiple business units; primarily supporting the EMEA region
- Provide rotational Tier 4 on call support for ARINC Operations Centre (AOC)

Education & Experience:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
- Three years’ experience working in a large scale Wide Area Network (WAN) environment
- Three years hands on Experience with Cisco routers and switches
- Three years network routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
- Three years of troubleshooting and/or isolating network related problems
Skills We Value:
- Previous experience working as a project lead
- Proven experience working closely with WAN Service Providers
- Experience working in a Service Provider environment
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA firewalls
- Experience with Amazon Web Services Direct Connect (DX) and/or other Cloud Services equivalent
- Experience with Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN)
- Experience with WAN technologies and protocols such as T1/E1, Frame-Relay, HDLC, DSL, Cellular,
- MPLS, and DMVPN
- Experience with Juniper networking products
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) would be a plus
