Pratt & Whitney's North Berwick Engineering Center is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Repair Engineer with the creativity, drive, and desire to see their ideas become a reality to support our Aftermarket Repair Design team. The Senior Mechanical Design Repair Engineer will have the opportunity to work on various Pratt & Whitney product lines in a repair development role. This role provides a unique perspective of Pratt & Whitney products with exposure to the full product life cycle. Hardware responsibilities primarily include components found in the compressor and turbine sections of commercial engines. Although this position is primarily a mechanical design role, working with structural finite element models and project management activities are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineer calculations to determine part acceptability and repair options.
  • Author part level and assembly level component repairs and other technical data / procedures.
  • Participate on multidisciplinary teams to develop and produce repairs that are cost effective and support customer timelines.
  • Support new product design reviews as the aftermarket team member and execute Engineering Standard Work.
  • Provide field investigation, and aftermarket technical support.
  • Interact with internal and external customers as well as other engineering disciplines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or in a related Engineering degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in design, analytical, or manufacturing engineering; or Master’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience in design, analytical, or manufacturing engineering.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous engineering experience in a design engineering role, either in new product development or support of fielded product.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, aerospace design methods and procedures, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficient with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proficient in CAD modeling, familiarity with NX programs a plus, experience with Siemens Teamcenter software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
