This position is for a Value Stream professional with deep knowledge and developed technical expertise in Program Management, able to manage complex problems in a dynamic and diverse environment. Develops and implements new processes, standards or operational plans that impact the achievement of results. Develops program plans, schedules, and budgets, and supports strategic planning efforts, contract negotiations, and may manage important vendors. This position will influence business decisions made by leadership and will recommend functional strategies and operational plans that will have direct impact on results.

More specifically, this position supports the Missile Control Actuation team and the selected candidate will be responsible for program leadership of multiple programs. General knowledge and awareness of US DOD acquisition processes, FAR 15 contracting, and Missile Control Actuation. Individuals are responsible for achievement of strategic goals with respect to customer satisfaction, execution of program deliverables, investment decisions and business growth and profitability on their respective programs.

Strong candidates should have experience leading and managing complex programs. Knowledge of aerospace Missile Control Actuation and the missiles industry is desired, but not required. The position requires taking a leadership role in frequent interactions with key customer stakeholders and providing cross-functional leadership to coordinate activities across the Collins Aerospace team that includes Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, Service and Customer-facing Business representatives to achieve program commitments and deliverables. Travel is required on occasion to support key customer, supplier, or team engagements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Program Lead with primary focus on Missile Control Actuation products and associated programs within Missiles division

  • Responsible for profit & loss/financial performance to ensure business objectives are met

  • Implements Missile Control Actuation business growth strategies to ensure that long-term goals are achieved

  • Provide program execution expertise leading the Integrated Product Team through the life cycle tenets of the Collins Management System

  • Accountable for the full value stream lifecycle of programs, products, and services from inception through completion and renewal, inclusive of pursuit and order capture, design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and long-term strategic business plans

  • Lead in areas of planning and execution of complex systems, managing risks with meaningful financial and schedule impacts and strategic implications for the business

  • Ensure adherence to program baselines and serve as the primary customer point of contact in communication of program status

  • Develop strong knowledge of the customers to assist with addressing challenges due to unforeseen circumstances and can influence and negotiate elements with appropriate customers to achieve and/or exceed business commitments while improving customer satisfaction

  • Maintain responsibility for schedule, performance, cost attainment, sales, and order forecasts, and present proposals, status reports and customer status to leadership

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality

  • Exercise and an understanding of Missile Control Actuation systems, production methods, development processes and support methodologies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Program Management experience.

  • Previously demonstrated communications and team building skills; able to effectively communicate vision across the Integrated Product Team

  • Lead decision making for the Integrated Product Team with the ability to apply critical thinking where incomplete data exists

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
