The Network and Connectivity Engineering (NCE) Team within CAS Engineering has the responsibility Air Traffic Control and Airline operational data on a secure, high-availability communication system between aircraft and their airline hosts systems and Civil Aviation Authorities. This worldwide communication system consists of diverse technologies including RF, private WAN networking, Network Management, Data Analytics, Embedded Communication Protocols, Mobility management algorithms, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions.
We're looking for a Management Systems and Server infrastructure Manager to support our aviation communication development needs. The Manager will lead the GLOBALink management and server infrastructure systems for the GLOBALink system. The GLOBALink system is a high availability (99.999%) communication system that provides operational and air traffic communications to the commercial airlines and civil aviation authorities across the globe.
The management systems group will be responsible for the following portions of the GLOBALink system; server security, network management systems and GUIs used by the operation center to manage the system, and data systems that ingest airline communications data and provide that data to various internal users. This is an ideal role for anyone who enjoys leading systems solutions and/or is interested in a leadership role in in the future. YOU will play a pivotal role in this high growth and high visibility area of the Collins Aerospace company.
What YOU will do:

You will develop a high performing staff that maintains and upgrades the management systems and networks for the GLOBALink system while maintaining 99.999% availability.

You will develop team members through mentoring, coaching, and progressive technical and leadership assignments.

You will develop off site engineering capabilities to augment the team.
-
You will execute the AOC and Data Infrastructure modernization programs.

You will develop a security server team that meets the requirements of the RTX Security policies and contractual requirements of our Civil Aviation Authority customers.

You will effectively roll out of changing Engineering practices in alignment with Raytheon Technologies Values and Behaviors.

You will execute the portion of the annual Engineering Operating Plan (EOP) and Strategic Financial Plan (SFP) assigned to the team by the product leaders with predictable project performance.

You will develop team members through mentoring, coaching, and progressive technical and leadership assignments.

Complex systems typically involved multiple servers, interfaces, networks, and databases. Experience with full life-cycle - development, test, implementation, and long-term support.
Education & Experience:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Proven experience with software development and server security engineering

The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey.
