JLR is harnessing technology to make driving smarter, safer and cleaner. You can help create a world in which responsible, sustainable vehicles revolutionise the driving experience for generations. Our vision is to leverage the incredible potential of technology to build vehicles that not only offer a premium, all-encompassing digital experience, but that also make our customers lives better.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking to recruit for a Senior Model Based Software Engineer who has strong experience in Matlab and Simulink. As our vehicles become more connected and automated, in-vehicle software has become an increasingly complex and critical area. Model-based software development plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of these increasingly complex systems.

JLR has made the strategic decision to in-house a growing proportion of the software development reducing reliance on suppliers, shortening iteration times, and improving software quality. We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic model-based software developer to support this growth.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Translation of requirements into models for simulation and code generation

  • Creating high-quality Simulink models, that consider code re-use and best practices

  • Capturing requirement traceability into models and code

  • Authoring and reviewing Unit, Model-in-loop, and Software-in-loop testcases

  • Supporting integration of code onto ECUs (Electronic Control Units)

  • Investigating the root cause of defects and resolving them

 WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Ability to translate high-level requirements into tangible designs.

  • Ability to create and analyse models using relevant tools such as Simulink, SysML or UML.

  • Understanding of modelling techniques (e.g., state machines, block diagrams).

  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and their implementation.

  • Experience with Unit testing, Model-in-Loop testing, and Software-in-Loop testing.
