Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Hardware Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of Operations Quality – SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) Module Fab. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Baseline factory metrics, identify top drivers of Cost of Poor Quality and facilitate continuous improvement activities.
Lead Defect Prevention Team (DPT) to review trends, assign actions, and drive root cause corrective action
Engage in process walks, operator observations, and MFG team discussions
Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control Plans, SPC, etc.)
Identify escapes, collaborate with MFG, Program and Supplier Quality teams as required for containment
Required Skills:
- Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and a minimum of five (5) years of Quality Engineering or related industry experience
- Manufacturing process experience (assembly, fabrication, inspection, test)
- Previous experience working directly with production hardware
- Experience with data analysis an analyzing raw data and developing relevant visual aids (Pivot Tables, paretos, charts)
- Experience in leading or participating in Root Cause Corrective Action, implementing corrective and preventative actions
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.
- Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
- Strong familiarity with MIL-STD-883 requirements and microelectronics manufacturing in a cleanroom environment
- Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP
- Experience developing and/or monitoring Quality Metrics (Scrap, DPU, First Pass Yield), process (SPC) charts
- Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications
- Existing US DoD Secret (or higher) clearance
