The Senior Engineering Project Assistant will be responsible for assisting software, systems, and/or hardware engineers with administrative, documentation, process, and general engineering-related support activities supporting the TCTS II Ops team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support several engineers, providing a wide variety of administrative support to assist engineering projects.

 This position will work onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Track units (TL/SL/Card) being tested in the labs
  • Assist with tracking calibration of test assets
  • Ordering cables or needed equipment for test technicians
  • Help track COs
  • Participate in status meetings 
  • Provides tools expertise and support to Engineering: MS Office Apps, requirements capture databases, change management, and tracking tools. Generate reports as required.  
  • Interfaces with engineers and engineering managers to create/edit documentation. 
  • Works with Engineering to train on processes and tools. Identifies opportunities for continuous process improvements.
  • Assists in tracking action items and tasks in the change management process.  
  • Networks with both internal and external personnel at multiple levels.
  • Generally, works on assignments that are given by the engineering teams
  • Works with engineering teams to effectively resolve issues.

Potential Additional Job Responsibilities: 

  • Supports the Bid & Proposal process, assisting in bid narratives and bid reviews Prepares presentations.
  • Coordinates the interaction of project/program team and support functions to communicate schedule and status.  
  • Often facilitates internal and/or external meetings. 
  • Schedule and run PREP meetings
  • Helps arrange and takes minutes for customer visits
  • SCL submittals
  • Handles part number assignment requests
  • Manages program training and permission assignments 
  • Ensures compliance with the Third-Party Intellectual Property process

 Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR In the absence of a HS diploma, GED, or AA/AS degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft O365(Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Experience with JIRA
