The Senior Engineering Project Assistant (EPA) will serve as primary engineering support responsible for assisting engineers with documentation, processes, and general non-technical engineering related tasks. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects and be given the opportunity to lead activities that will aid in the success of major engineering milestones.
This position will work in a hybrid capacity at our Rockford IL facility.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create, format and edit engineering documents, presentations and spreadsheets
- Request export classification on all test and communication documents utilizing xClass
- Update and ensure all documents have correct classification markings
- Update Technical Engineering Communication (TEC) logs
- Assist with TEC submittals to Contracts and Data Management
- Update weekly parts obsolescence database reports
- Facilitate internal\external customer meetings and create meeting minutes
- Prepare presentation material in support of weekly PMP meetings
- Track items utilizing action logs, risk registers and change management tools
- Update and maintain Project Management logs
- Provide tools expertise and support to Engineering: MS Office Apps, requirements databases, change management and tracking tools etc.
- Support the Bid & Proposal process as bid narrative reviewer as well as entering data into the Bid Master Web (BMW) bidding tool
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
- Networks with both internal and external personnel at multiple levels
- Assists Engineering leads with various project management tasks as required
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint in an intermediate capacity
- Prior usage or exposure to any of the following engineering tools: SAP, DOORS, PREP, Subversion, Jira/ALM, SharePoint, and Agile is desired but not a requirement to be considered.
