What are our expectations:

The DPHM team is looking for innovative engineers and data scientists that can apply numerical methods to complex turbomachinery systems operating in service. The candidate will develop solutions that provide automated diagnostic and prognostic capabilities to identify shifts/deterioration in the engine’s major mechanical systems, such as the following:

-Overall Engine Performance

-Oil System Health

-Fuel System Health

-Start System Health

-Vibration

Additionally, the candidate will support Engineering and Customer Support by performing data mining activities that generate datasets useful for root cause analysis and redesign activities.

Required qualification and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of experience
  • Communication in English both verbal and written is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Python, SQL, AWS Lambda, & PowerBI is mandatory.
  • Experience running engine performance (such as NPSS, FAST, SOAPP, etc.) or data reduction models.
  • Knowledgeable of Six Sigma Control Charts and the associated statistics.
  • Experience troubleshooting turbomachinery systems.
  • Beneficial Skillsets: DataBricks, Machine Learning, knowledge of Product Reliability (i.e., Weibull Diagrams)

Role and responsibilities:

  • When engineering models don’t exist, reverse engineer models from raw fleet data.
  • Generate algorithms that normalize engine data to a consistent operating condition for trending.
  • Generate automated scripts that identify trend anomalies.
  • Identify the root cause of trend anomalies, and update models/algorithms as required.
  • Participate and present in technical reviews.
  • Perform database queries to support Engineering and manage field issues.
  • Generate event detection logic to capture new events and exposures from full flight data.
  • Generate PowerBI Pages to aid in data visualization.
  • Write analytics functional documentation and supporting technical materials.
  • Package algorithms into containerized software for deployment in the field, on third party software architectures.
  • Manage/Maintain the SQL server’s data tables.
