WHAT TO EXPECT

 

You will be joing a team that are responsible for identifying issues related to JLR products where there may be an unreasonable risk to safety or compliance. This covers vehicles in use with customers, within the retail network, within vehicle distribution and within manufacturing plants These issues are identified as Critical Concerns and the responsible Critical Concerns Senior Engineer leads the investigation with the person most knowledgeable within JLR. 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

 

  • Jointly with the broader Critical Concerns’ Team, engage in the methodical and robust progression of CC investigations, producing accurate records and working cross-functionally to drive prompt resolution by supporting departments
  • Identify issues for progression to the Product Safety and Compliance Committee (PSCC)  
  • Developing the corresponding data, to produce reasoned cases and arguments in support of progression of the issue through to PSCC  
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to support with a Global investigation
  • Lead Technical investigations with external Police Forces, Fire Brigades and provide technical support to the Product Integrity Product Litigation Lawyer 



WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • Experience of Vehicle engineering or Automotive industry
  • Independent mindset with an appreciation of what ‘better’ looks like – able to suggest improvements to existing products, processes, or ways of working, or even new products
  • Strong analytical skills able to use data to see patterns, trends and things of note and to draw meaningful conclusions from them
  • Knowledgeable within automotive networks CAN, Flex Ray etc and vehicle electrical/Electronic architecture
  • Broad whole vehicle system knowledge
