Unspecified​​AI-powered simulations are transforming industries and society itself: in this role, you will lead projects focused on the application of generative modeling, deep learning, and uncertainty quantification to engineering simulations to enable a new paradigm to design aerospace​ systems.  The team is part of the Collins Aerospace Advanced Methods Department, and geographically distributed in the US and EU, and works with Collins product teams worldwide distributed and external research sponsors to extend both the state of the art and the state of the practice of Engineering Simulation, as one team. A multidisciplinary team, covering different application domains of aerospace systems but operating as one team in the world of virtual engineering. We can work with your engineering simulation skills and transform them giving you your superpower of a niche and rare skillset. This role is unique because of the vast portfolio it touches across different Collins products, moving from industrial challenges to the research frontiers definition, and beyond.  You will expand our engineering simulation team by 10% by 2024. ​​Lead the maturation and transition of transformative technologies to industrial business units bridging the gap between exploratory research and industrial application.​ ​​You will ramp up the launch of simulation-based solutions for Collins product in 3 months, lead current research efforts on engineering simulation methods in the context of Clean Aviation and HORIZON, and contribute to the strategic research roadmap definition. ​ ​​Work in a multidisciplinary environment, identify current challenges in our industry, and look beyond the state of the art in the world of engineering simulation.​ Develop new design methods and solutions, exploring evolutionary AI-reasoning, deep learning, uncertainty quantification, and statistical computing methods for cyber-physical systems modeling and simulation to enable Digital Twins, Virtual Certification, and new design paradigms. ​​You will learn how to be a simulation engineer by creating new solutions and business paradigms in the emerging field of virtual engineering and gain niche skills that allow you to be unique in everything you do.​ ​​You will gain exposure to Collins industrial design challenges, understand issues, and define new methods and solutions to overcome them. An end-to-end workflow super attractive addition to your resume.​ ​​You can become a subject matter expert and leader in virtual engineering methods with exposure to a variety of businesses and products. Collins is redefining aerospace, and so can you.​ ​​• Experience in modelling and simulation of complex physics based systems. ​• Experience in Uncertainty Quantification and Propagation methods.  ​• Experience in methods and processes for validation, verification and accreditation of simulation models (determining the degree to which a model and its associated data provide an accurate representation of the real world). ​• Experience in generative modeling (reduced order modeling, surrogate or ML).  ​• Deep Learning, and generative AI applied to engineering simulation. ​• Experience in Software Development using C/C++, python, and scripting skills.​​​•Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR  ​•Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR ​•Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree typically in mechanical engineering, computer sciences, computer engineering ​
