Senior Buyer

Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible to put in place a purchasing strategy for all current parts as well as to support the Aptiv Global Business Line Purchasing Concept. Person should manage with the help of Category Manager the parts under that person responsibility  within the ASCM business plan and use creativity bringing with new methods material performance to the ASCM overall result.

Main tasks:

  • Negotiate Material Performance to meet annual targets,

  • Conduct quarterly reviews with CM providers to assure correct cost and commercial conditions are in place between CM and directed suppliers,

  • Monitors bill of material changes, components prices changes and process changes and if needed proposes price list adjustment,

  • Creates, issues and maintains frame contracts with the supplier base according ASCM policies and procedures. Make sure that the negotiated conditions are implemented in the sites. Consider quality, Service (PC&L), Technology, Price and Timing of needed products.

  • Collect total information: volumes, prices, spec. other conditions for new projects as well as for all other running   projects. Uses this information as a basis for purchasing strategy and communicates this information to the finally selected supplier base,

  • In cooperation with Category Manager and GPL develops suppliers for new programs,

  • Monitors the quality of suppliers and propose actions to iprove suppliers quality,

  • Conduct QBRs (Quartely Business Reviews) with Suppliers to monito and improve performance on  Quality, Service, Technology, Price, Delivery and other aspects.

  • Use Category Strategy to conduct sourcings,

  • Support Start Centers and GPLs in new RFQs processes for CM,

  • Reports results in the required format and makes proposals to Category Managers, Category Teams and to the Sourcing Committee,

  • Considers the needs and concerns of the individual plants when making a Sourcing Recommendation,

  • Assure compliance with local procedures and work instructions,

Basic requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in purchasing (plastics and resins)

  • Bachelor's degree terminated

  • English level advanced

  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication skills
