Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Indirect Buyer position.  This position will support the Indirect procurement requirements at the Burnsville, MN site.  This take-charge individual will procure goods and services for the business to maintain and develop its operations.  This strong performer will collaborate with manufacturing, facilities, engineering, business development, contracts/legal, supply chain, logistics and suppliers.  This strong performer will drive on-time deliveries, identify and lead cost reduction initiatives, engage in innovation and process improvements.  This position is a combination of strategic and tactical responsibilities.  This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career with a stable growing aerospace manufacturing company.    

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Place and manage purchase orders, ensure timely receipt and invoicing of goods and services.
  • Track POs for cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Participate in development of best practices/processes within Supply Chain.
  • Analyze frequent spend and develop recommendations for improvement in cost.
  • Achieve annual cost savings.
  • Partner with Receiving, Accounts Payable, and internal customers to resolve goods receipts and invoice errors.
  • Initiate Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA's) and Statement of Work (SOW) to potential suppliers.
  • Engage with Corporate on new Supplier Agreements and drive initiatives at the local business unit.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer degree in Supply Chain Management or Business related.
  • Prefer certification or in process of attaining C.P.M. (ISM) or CPIM (APICS) or Project Management Professional (PMI).
  • 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management/Procurement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with frequent change of priorities.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Self-directed professional able to work without direct guidance.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management/Procurement practices.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Contract management.
  • Proficient in the English language.
