Brief Department/Job Description

Summary of Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate for this early career role to be part of the General Accounting team within the Raytheon Technologies Enterprise Services organization. This person will be primarily supporting fixed assets. This person will perform the following primary responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization as a main contact on capital projects, working with individuals at all levels across the organization.
  • Perform complete accounting tasks specifically related to Fixed Asset Accounting, including disposals, transfers, and capitalization requests.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of company-wide policy as it relates to fixed assets and consistently apply policy through daily tasks.
  • Support the monthly close process through ensuring accuracy and completeness of settlement and depreciation runs timely.
  • Support physical inventory initiatives.
  • Compile ad-hoc requests including management reporting, tax reporting and audit requests.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries. 
  • Contribute to ES by bringing innovative solutions within the knowledge base and work of the department.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with US GAAP Accounting
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills, good business acumen and ability to brief levels of management
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and database reporting skills
  • Analytical, planning and organizational skills to problem solve and recommend comprehensive solutions
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to maintain a service-oriented demeanor with professionalism in sensitive and challenging situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or experience with current finance and accounting systems and month end close procedures
  • Experience in SAP, JD Edwards and/or HFM is a plus

Experience and Education

  • This role typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and 2 or more years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools/sites that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Security Clearance (if applicable):

  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.  Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Remote or Hybrid, with primary office located in Farmington, CT or Cedar Rapids, IA

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD - 124,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
