The Test Automation Department of Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) division of Raytheon Technologies is seeking an Antenna Single Layer Projects Test Section Manager with experience in executing and transitioning test equipment projects (both test hardware and software) cross development and production environments.

The Test Section Manager will provide Engineering leadership and mentorship for a team of approximately fourteen (14) engineers responsible for the architecture, design, development, integration, deployment, and maintenance of Antenna Single Layer test solutions delivered to the Forest MS production factory, El Segundo engineering development labs and customer Depot facilities.  The Test Section Manager will also maintain the execution of the projects schedule and deliverables, responsible for Control Account Manager (CAM), perform at a high operational tempo, and demonstrate an ability to react quickly to changes in both the plan and/or priorities while maintaining execution rigor that is appropriate to a production environment.

Also, the Test Section Manager will perform direct line management activities that include training coordination, performance management, career development, and resource allocation.   The candidate will ensure two-way communications for section members; serve as a day-to-day liaison to the program concerning employee job assignments, performance, and recognition.  Responsibilities also include coordinating program staffing needs and reductions, optimizing resource utilization and interviewing applicants.  In addition, the Section Manager will team with the Department Manager in the execution of the Center and SAS Engineering goals, and will be expected to actively participate in Department level meetings.

The role will also be a strategic position requiring daily contact with customer counter parts both internal and external. New test strategies will need to be developed as the program transitions from the verification level testing done during development, to the acceptance testing needed for production at the factory location. This position will need to develop and implement facilities strategy to transform test facilities from developmental testing to full rate production.

Job Related Activities:

Responsibilities for the overall technical execution of the system engineering, integration, test, and IV&V functions of Antenna Single Layer Antenna Special Test Equipment (STE).

Responsible for direct line management activities that include training coordination, performance management, career development, and resource allocation. Responsibilities also include coordinating program staffing needs and reductions, optimizing resource utilization and interviewing applicants.

Responsible for developing and coordinating proposals & BOEs to obtain Department and/or Center approval, reviewing and participating in EAC estimates, reviewing and participating in IMS development.  

Communication and interface to program, department leadership and to both internal and external customers.

​​Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 12 years of experience in Test System development integration, and verification

Experience with multi-functional and cross-site teams

Demonstrated strong organization, coordination, planning, and team building skills

Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills

Understanding of the challenges of a long-term production program, be able to perform affordability and obsolescence trades and manage a large team.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Systems Engineering experience with RF related products

Project Financial Manager experience

Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) or Program Management experience

Agile Development Methodology

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Science, or related technical discipline (preferably Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Software Engineering) and 12 years of related experience.

Requires deep management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across multiple related departments.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
