Overview
Raytheon’s Enterprise Data Services (EDX) group is seeking a senior scrum master supporting Raytheon’s focus on Digital Thread/Data Strategy as part of our enterprise-wide Digital Transformation initiative.
Position:
The senior scrum master of the Delivery team is responsible for ensuring the team practice agile values and principles and follows the processes and best practices implemented as part of EDX agile journey. The senior scrum master of the delivery team will work in close partnership with agile coach, program leads, engineers, and product owners to make EDX product delivery run more efficiently. In this role, you will be driving the agile ceremonies with the goal of ensuring we have the development of scalable, digital products. With your dedication, guidance and commitment, our product teams will continue to mature and improve our agile/scrum development methodologies.
Your experience as a key contributor at a Fortune 100 company is a requirement, as is a history of improving the efficiency of software delivery leveraging agile practices. You are a self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced environment; have experience leading teams against changing deadlines and requirements; and developing and overseeing standards and best-practices.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the scrum team in using agile methodologies and scrum practices
- Collaborate with the product owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction
- Lead the scrum and development teams in self-organization
- Remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments
- Resolve conflicts and issues that occur during the various ceremonies
- Be an influencing force with the scrum team in or to achieve higher levels of scrum maturity
- Support the product owner and provide invaluable insights when needed
- Work with the product team to help shape and provide input to product roadmaps
- Partner with EDX Agile Coach to ensure teams are adopting agile best practices, train and coach teams in agile development methodologies
- Ensure teams are delivering projects and products using the appropriate agile/ Scrum methodologies
- Ensure best practices and projects are appropriately documented and updated on Confluence
- Review Jira for individual and aggregate team metrics, and be a passionate advocate for agile best practices across all teams
- Help move EDX forward in our agile maturity journey
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience leading a scrum team on a highly visible product
- Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
- Experience with successful agile techniques
- Ability to work with and lead a team that’s developing a product leveraging SDLC
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the midst of an organization that is operating in a VUCA environment
- Prior experience managing large technical programs, particularly at high growth startups or Fortune 500 companies.
- Experience working with teams through digital transformation leveraging agile development methodologies
- Deep understanding of agile philosophy, continuous delivery, cloud-native and micro-service architectures.
- Ability to define and develop an incremental, multi phased plan to improve software development practices
- Ability to survey the environment and prioritize the most important or highest value tasks
- Experience managing complex, large scale, IT/technical/engineering initiatives.
- Deep understanding of software development/engineering lifecycle from conception to delivery.
- Deep knowledge and insight and data engineering processes and workflow to drive bigger business outcomes
- Understanding of large-scale application architecture and integration patterns.
- Experience with Azure or AWS platforms, Kubernetes.
Education
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 7 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 5 years experience
