Job Summary:

The Robotics Engineer will be responsible for helping establish a formal system within the Pratt & Whitney manufacturing site located in Asheville, NC to deliver measurable manufacturing results through formal strategy formulation and execution of robotics and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support FANUC robotic and autonomous mobile robotic manufacturing processes. Contribute to the development and execution of manufacturing methods and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Work closely with manufacturing/quality engineering to reform processes and data acquisition.
  • Work in coordination within the automation team to establish/enforce site standards and specifications of controls, robotics, and automation. Monitor robot health and coordinate with maintenance team for scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Monitor robot backup schedule and manage robot backup files. Work in coordination with system integrators in all aspects of onsite and offline robot programming.
  • The ability to take direction and work independently while meeting timelines. The ability to perform duties while in compliance with environmental, health, and safety procedures.
  • Troubleshooting issues related to all robotic processes in a production setting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years programming experience in automated manufacturing systems, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience with autonomous mobile robot programming.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Ability to travel 10%.
  • Experience with evaluation and implementation of robotic standards.
  • Experience with troubleshooting peripheral components and applications from various manufactures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to robotic engineering.
  • Experience with FANUC Roboguide or Siemens Process Simulate software.
  • FANUC Advanced DCS Certified.
