WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The primary purpose of the role is to support the Research and Innovation activity with prototyping components. 

The day-to-Day duties will be to produce a variety of components for Research and Innovation based projects. Aspects of this role include conducting quality control checks using a variety of measurement equipment. Inspecting/maintaining machinery, tooling and equipment to ensure parts produced conform to specification and minimise production downtime.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Produce one off and small batch components from engineering CAD drawings
  • Machine, fabricate and assemble prototypes using: Mill, Lathe, Pillar Drill, Cutting and Bending, Welder
  • Build and integrate components into prototype assemblies
  • Follow industry and JLR Safety and Quality standards (training will be provided if required)

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • Experience of manual machining lathes, milling machines, etc
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
  • Be able to interpret written and verbal design requirements
  • Have the knowledge to utilise Microsoft Office tools
  • Relevant HNC/HND or equivalent experience
