Repair coordinator

Position Summary:

Develop and strategically manage a global network of external repair shops. Ensure coordination between shops and current/projected orders. Maintain steady stream of communication regarding quality and performance improvement between repair shops.

Primary Responsibilities:

  •  Question, analyze and initiate actions to improve individual repair shop performance.
  •  Monitor open orders, progress on improvement actions, communicate on improvement plans and manage problem solving teams.
  •  Recognize, escalate and create solutions for critical issues together with experts if necessary.
  •  Proactively communicate with repair shops and ensure that the Repair and Warranty Administration team is up to date with any development on the repair shops' side, their capabilities and their repair orders.
  •  Simulate make or buy scenarios and evaluate level of support for new repair shop selections.
  •  Organize and lead external and internal visits with suppliers. ● Monitor and report on political and economic conditions in the marketplace identifying matters of importance to competitiveness, including competitors' behavior and activities.
  •  Ensure processes are aligned based on inputs from Repair & Warranty Specialists. Identify potential gaps and harmonize the internal processes between the different Airbus entities in Canada and Europe
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  •  Support supply base industrialization and consolidation.
  •  In cooperation with Repair & Warranty Process Owner ensure internal and external processes are reviewed and improved where needed.
  •  Contribute towards supplier management activities in collaboration with the General Procurement/Sourcing Team.
  •  Support the Head of Repair, Warranty & Production in meeting the strategic objectives related to repair activities.

 

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

  •  Demonstrated success as a team player.
  •  Strong communication skills in written and verbal English. Fluency in another language is highly desirable.
  •  Several years of experience working in the spare part business
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation and analytical skills.
  •  Strategic thinker with a structured approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work in an international environment and reach out across functions with a variety of individual interests to improve operations and enhance quality.

Education / Special Qualifications:

  •  An Associate's Degree in Production, Manufacturing or Logistics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience with supply chain, purchasing, repair and logistics. 
  •  Written and spoken fluency in English and fluency in another language is highly desirable.
  •  Experience and skill in use of PC software as well as internal company operating systems.
  •  Supplier management and development experience.
