Collins is seeking an experienced onsite Radio Field Service Technician. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day priorities in solving clients VHF/UHF Radio, Telephone, Networking & PC related issues based out of our Mississauga, On. office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, prioritizes, and resolves issues encountered by customers.
  • Analyze system failures, identify, and restore equipment malfunctions and failures.
  • Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to servicing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and removing equipment.
  • Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications.
  • Manages technical products, services, logistics and provisioning, quantity surveying, and configurations to assigned customers.
  • Troubleshoots technical problems and recommends actions to company or customer representatives.
  • Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Install & maintain digital wireless communication equipment in the VHF, UHF, 800 MHz bands operating on trunking or conventional modes
  • Install & maintain dispatch console systems.
  • Install & maintain radio equipment stationary & mobile.
  • Manages statement of work to meet customer and contract requirements.
  • Contacts customer, collects feedback, and establishes and maintains good relationship with customers.
  • Travel 30%
  • Monday to Friday workdays with rotational on call
  • Applicants will be subject to a government security screening.   

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) or network/electronics technical degree, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Must have a valid Canadian citizenship
  • English Spoken & Written
  • Be self-motivated and able to work effectively both in a team environment and under minimal supervision in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the RF field
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and knowledge of how to use RF testing equipment.
  • Completion of a practical course in the RF Radio & Electronics
  • Completion of a practical course in Networking

Pay Range:

Pay Range $45,000.00 - $89,000.00
