Development Operations’ West Palm Beach Florida location is responsible for the validation of development military, commercial, and APU jet engines at its multiple test facilities. These engines are subsequently produced for use in a variety of government and commercial applications including the F35 Joint Strike Fighter, F22 Raptor, Bombardier C-Series, Airbus, Irkut, Embraer and Mitsubishi jet applications.

Apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate M&TE (measurement and test equipment) in the electrical, Fluid Quantities, mechanical, thermodynamics, and/or time/frequency to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance to ISO/IEC 17025, AS9100 and P&W procedures.  Overall job focus is support of jet engine/APU engine testing and assembly operations at the West Palm Beach Facility. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and create calibration automation software used to perform calibrations.
  • Identify, maintain, and utilize appropriate measurement procedures.
  • Participate in quality audits and perform corrective actions to address identified measurement issues.
  •  Adapt equipment, standards, and procedures to accomplish unique measurements.
  • Maintain calibration standards and recommend new laboratory standards
  • Perform laboratory and/or departmental quality, environment health and safety, housekeeping duties.

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience
  • US Citizen, due to Government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMEL/TMDE or equivalent military training in Metrology
  • 7 years of experience in any of the following: calibration technician in an ISO17025 accredited laboratory, calibration automation software development, or other calibration experience.
  • ASQ Calibration Technician certification
  • Knowledge/experience with HPVEE, TransERA HT Basic, Labview, and visual basic
  • Knowledge/experience with Fluke Compass for Pressure, Fluke Compass for Flow, Fluke MetCal/ MetTeam, and SAP.
  • Knowledge/experience in ISO 17025 accredited laboratory operation
  • Knowledge/experience with Proficiency testing
  • Knowledge/experience with measurement uncertainty as applied to calibration
  • Knowledge of Algebra, calculus, Technical writing, and Statistical and quality control methods
  • Knowledge/experience with basic error analysis
  • A team player with strong integrity who take initiative and good logical/critical thinking
  • Ability to multitask and prioritizes work
