The Electric Power Systems value stream is searching for a Manager, Value Stream Leader to lead Propulsion Electrification programs. Primary program responsibilities will be hybrid propulsion and all electric technology applications within the non-core and emerging markets, including but not limited to advance air mobility (AAM), urban air mobility (UAM), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The VSL is accountable for the full lifecycle of products and programs from inception through completion, inclusive of pursuit and order capture, design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and long-term strategic business plan. Assigned as the chair of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) accountable for managing the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule, performance and on-time delivery of company programs or subsystems of major programs.  Serves as the face of the organization to customers.  Has responsibility for project execution and budgets within the value stream.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads development programs to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules and budgets for programs under his/her/their responsibility and recommends appropriate adjustments.

  • Influence maturation of product technology to serve assigned markets (current and future) achieving customer technical requirements, cost, schedule & industrialization plan

  • Accountable for entire performance of the assigned value stream and influences matrixed IPTs decision making.

  • Accountable for managing all aspects of income and spending - forecasting, cost management, and engineering/program spending.

  • Ability to influence and negotiate elements with appropriate customers to achieve and/or exceed enterprise commitments while improving customer satisfaction.

  • Leads complex, international teams with some matrixed responsibilities over sub-system teams.

  • Serve as the Capture Manager for new business opportunities, to include developing customer relationships, win strategies, developing estimates, management of timely submittals of major proposals and contracts, and conduct successful customer negotiations.

  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, proactively identify problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or negotiating contractual specifications.

  • Be responsible for risk/opportunity management and earned value management of assigned work to ensure on-time and within budget completion, including work performed at subcontractors.

  • Direct the work of employees assigned to the program from a technical, manufacturing, contractual and financial perspective.

  • Be responsible for assuring that all functional aspects of the group perform in a manner which supports business unit and program/customer commitments, including Program Management, Finance, Quality, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, and Contracts.

  • Organize and conduct program status reviews, team meetings, Collins Management System (CMS) planning documents, and various other regular business activities.

  • Support the alignment and implementation of CORE and CT3 processes/tools within the value stream.

  • Represent the company to applicable customer interfaces and resolve customer satisfaction issues with diverse customers related to the business group.

  • Represent the program to our company senior management, managing and reporting revenue, gross margin, capital expenditure, new business development, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with aircraft electric power and/or aircraft propulsion systems.

  • Previous project leadership and and budget management within a matrixed environment.

  • Familiarity with Intellectual Property (IP) generation, management, and protection methods.
