Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations. This person will be in a cross disciplinary team environment and will need to be able to thrive on tackling challenges, as the position requires the use of problem-solving skills in a hands-on work environment to address problems and implement appropriate design or process changes.
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work intimately with Integrated Product Team (IPT) (engineering, ops, program management and others) to achieve program success.
- Support formalization of critical customer and change board documentation/coordination.
- Responsible for supporting and managing program statement of work.
- Responsible for creation of detailed technical schedule, execution of these schedules.
- Prepare presentations and present program status, milestones, risks, mitigation plans, etc. at regularly scheduled program reviews.
- Identify and mitigate project risks (technical, schedule, cost, quality, etc.) to prevents risks from becoming issues.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to manage project resources.
- Record and document delay, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations.
- Perform critical path analysis and prepares and implements work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
- Meet program schedules and budgets and supports in the maintenance of the integrated master schedules for project(s).
- Support SPI through tracking of deliverables and recalculating demand profiles.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of and experience in Siemens PLM tools – Teamcenter and NX.
- Working knowledge of project schedules (IMS), Month end reconciliation activities
- Familiarity of JIRA tracking tool.
- Experience with Earn Value Activity (SPI/CPI), explaining any variances in the EV data
- Exposure to CPI through compiling and costing analysis based off Finance reports
