Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will provide in-depth knowledge of Quality Management System requirements and partner with Program leadership to support all phases of the Navy Standard Missile System (NSMS) Production Programs. They will implement continuous program health assessments, improve customer deliverable products/critical processes/systems, and manage customer relationships.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
The Program Quality Engineer will execute initiatives for all phases of the NSMS Production Programs and work within integrated teams to analyze, control and improve product quality by conducting the following activities:
Develop partnerships with senior leaders, IPTs, and functions throughout the Program to define steps necessary to implement quality strategies that shape Raytheon’s ability to become the provider of choice
Analyze/validate measurement system capability for accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility, and stability over time using various tools including PFMEA, PPVs, SPC, etc.
Interpret command media in compliance to work being performed.
Lead and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, implement closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process predictability and capability.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Five (5) years of related Quality Engineering experience
- Ability to technically interface with various engineering disciplines
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers and in a team environment
- Perform analyses of nonconformities to characterize causes as routine (common) or exceptional (special), and develop effective containment and elimination plans
- Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications
- Ability to comprehend and translate external and internal requirements and command media
- Proficient in the Configuration Change, Material and Engineering Review Board processes and knowledgeable in the quality role in these boards
- Drive continuous improvement
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- The ability to obtain special access program clearance
Qualifications We Value:
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
- Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications, Level 5 Mission Assurance Certification (Internal candidates)
- Proficient in the use of Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping
- Knowledge of descriptive statistics and statistical control methodologies
- Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
- Technical understanding of, PFMEA, SPC, Control Plans, and Process Capability Assessments
- Experience in implementing APQP
- Proficiency with Process Re-invention Integrating Systems for Manufacturing (PRISM)
- Current Secret clearance
Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project
management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires:
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
