The Program Management Specialist works in a supporting function to assist the Program Management team with the delivery of customer programs. Gathers, collates, analyzes, and prepares project reports and documentation related to program performance and execution. Assists with managing vendors and customer meetings. This position will allow an individual the growth opportunity to become immersed in the daily activities of managing a high profile program, by leading action calls, assembling change orders, following up on materials and gaining customer interface.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works closely with sales representatives to understand, in detail, the sales and administrative process.
- Provides technical expertise to current and prospective customers.
- Develops junior team members in responding to more complex customer concerns and problems to enable/ensure customer satisfaction.
- Arranges and provides shipments to enable demonstration of products by sales personnel.
- Responsible for moderately complex customer calls.
Sells products and services typically via phone or online orders (with quotas and/or productivity needs). - Assists with the proposal generation process and manages agreement renewals and product upgrades for assigned accounts.
- Generates leads through placing phone calls to lists of potential customers and handles 3rd party component sales.
- Responds to routine sales leads from sales engineers, sales reps or managers.
- Sells products and/or services to commercial firms; calls on customers; demonstrates products; prepares forms and sales paperwork.
- Works under the direction of the Program Manager, Program Directors and Functional Managers with limited oversight.
- Develops and maintains status reports for Program Management related to program revenue, capital expenditures, change requests, BFE management, Engineering changes, and technical coordination memos.
- Prepares project reports related to the business aspects of the project/program for reporting to internal executive leadership and external customers
- Maintains documentation related to sales order entry, technical specifications, and program execution.
- Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders on project technical specifications and requirements to ensure successful project scoping and confirmation of targets.
- Assists with managing vendors during the development phase
- Demonstrates continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality
- Supports Program Managers during major milestone meetings
- Performs other duties, as assigned, to support the program.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Preferred Qualifications
- Superior organizational skills
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize competing tasks
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Able to anticipate needs and shows initiative
- Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
- Aerospace industry experience, preferred
- Project Management experience working in cross functional teams, preferred
- Engineering or technical background, preferred
