Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Program Director is a senior leader who is responsible for a national team of skilled professionals focused on ensuring the safe and timely delivery of contract commitments and project milestones; ensuring Australia’s Collins Class Submarine fleet remain available for domestic and international deployments.
Harnessing the skills of specialist teams of engineers, technicians and logisticians, your leadership of Raytheon Australia’s Combat System Management Program works proactively and collaboratively with leadership peers and defence force representatives. As Raytheon Australia’s senior representative you will engage directly with RAN leaders, holding responsibility in governance and review boards in Commonwealth and Defence forums.
A background in major project delivery enhanced by knowledge in maritime or military management systems will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply your knowledge and skills to lead a national team to develop, plan and implement multiple complex projects that will progress concurrently to deliver program objectives;
- Lead and collaborate in a cross-functional environment to meet operational requirements; ensuring Submarine capability meets RAN defence readiness;
- Demonstrate high-levels of negotiation skills and influence across internal and external stakeholder groups;
- Provide briefings, presentations and reporting to governance bodies and organisational leadership;
- Contribute to and support company growth strategies, identify emerging opportunities, concurrent with responsibility to identify, assess and manage risks and opportunities.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Business, Commerce or Project Management;
- Minimum of 8 years Management experience in a project delivery or related management position, preferably aligned with an understanding of the commercial requirements and processes of the Australian Defence sector;
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written, coupled with the ability to present professionally to diverse senior stakeholder groups;
- Prior experience with planning and managing cross-program communications and stakeholder engagement, coupled with proven background in managing teams.
- Achievements in change management with highly visible leadership style and a willingness to drive a culture of collaboration and delivery.
- Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
