Job Summary:

Hot Section Module Center is hiring New Product Introduction (NPI) Manufacturing Engineers to work with our CIPT teams as we prepare for advanced military and commercial development programs.

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in a high technology, advanced program environment incorporating the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools. They will partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to evaluate the most efficient and cost-effective part and process design. The ideal candidate will develop manufacturing process alternatives based on improved manufacturability and producibility. Primary location in East Hartford CT and up to 10% travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Mfg Readiness Level (MRL) progression of new products by identifying risks/opportunities and developing and completing mitigation plans
  • Create work instructions and routing summaries for development hardware
  • Perform technology and process development tasks; including, first piece runs, measurement system analysis and capability assessments
  • Implementation of lean process improvements activities to meet schedule and cost targets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related Bachelors’ degree
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High level of proficiency in the application of continuous improvement tools: Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, PFMEA, Six Sigma and/or Red-X.
  • Experience and knowledge of machining and assembly processes, including tool application.
