Job Summary:

The Process Engineering Technical Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership of Process Engineering resources, technical strategies, and investment resources that support objectives of the Commercial/Military production lines within the West Palm Beach Production Engine Delivery Center. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and team skills, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Process Engineers to execute program requirements in the Production Engine Delivery Center.
  • Align Process Engineering resources with projects that support key business initiatives.
  • Promote the use of data driven root cause and corrective action tool usage to support On-Time production CAR (Corrective Action Request) closure.                                                     
  • Support all EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) initiatives (PRA, Work-Fit, Ergo) by driving safe processes across all production product lines.
  • Implement and execute engineering changes to ensure customer requirements are met and build commitments are achieved.
  • Develop, plan, & implement capital requirements to support productivity improvements, technology insertion and capacity for future programs.
  • Continue to ensure production support for JSF, APU and future product lines as they move into high production ramp-up within WPB PDC. 
  • Lead/Participate in Employee Engagement initiatives and activities demonstrated through diverse work groups as part of the PDC’s Leadership Team.
  • Drive product cost reduction and ensure War on Cost targets are achieved through process improvements and deployment of new technologies.
  • Support CORE activities as required. Lead CORE activities within the Engineering department.
  • Evaluate engineering changes and be the voice of Operations in technical reviews that establishes the MRL advancement plan and certification.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook with ability to use Minitab and other statistical software; proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or MBA
  • Leadership experience and personnel management responsibilities (direct-reports) in a cross-functional environment including engineering, operations and support functions.
  • OEM Manufacturing experience, ideally within a gas turbine repair Assembly & Test (DAT) facility
  • LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training and experience
  • Experience with SAP ERP, MS Office, and Solumina MES or similar Engine Maintenance System
