Job Summary:
Process Engineers provide common standard methodology for propagating Engineering requirements to product design activities, link product development to production capabilities, provide standard documentation for material performance characteristics and selection criteria, and provide support for the proposed solution throughout the product life cycle. Will work to improve processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Quickly address production issues related to materials and processes, ensure root causes of issues are understood and solutions are robust and cost effective.
- Engage with Factory to understand material and process issues.
- Notify the Materials Management Team of any potential materials obsolescence or supply chain interruptions.
- Lead continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean manufacturing techniques to reduce variability, eliminate constraints, and provide ongoing process sustainment
- Determine if suppliers have robust, measurable processes, ensure suppliers are following all specifications, and proper controls are in place.
- Validate Suppliers have the appropriate qualifications and lot testing is being performed and the correct process variables are being measured.
- Drive use of common materials based on allowable requirements from the drawing
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with materials and material testing
- Experience with technical documentation
- Experience with lean manufacturing
- Experience with technical writing
- Leadership experience
- FOE, Contamination Control, Cleanroom Mgmt, ESD
- Active DOD Security Clearance
