Job Summary:
As a part of the Supplier Material Verification Team, this position is responsible for leading the supplier First Article Inspection (FAI) review process as well as providing remote support for inspections at suppliers. This role will directly interface with third party inspection agency leads to drive education through the Raytheon supply base.
- This position is a hybrid role based in Andover, MA and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Establish and maintain Raytheon's interpretation of AS9102 through supply base and supplier quality.
- Engage with inspectors and suppliers on FAI review/inspection activities.
- Lead the deployment and execution of third party supplier FAI coaching engagements.
- Manage Raytheon Purchase Orders to contract 3rd party inspection support.
- Daily interaction with other cross functional teams in Raytheon to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include technical support, manufacturing/test/design engineering, supply chain, maintenance, production control, finance, and the program management office.
- Ensures the full compliance of company policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities using CORE.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years prior engineering/operations experience, or an Advanced Degree in a STEM related field and a minimum of 3 years experience
- Previous experience working within AS9102 as it relates to FAI, First Article Inspection
- Previous experience with mentoring jr level engineering staff
- Experience with the identification and management of performance metrics to drive informed business decisions
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in the aerospace/defense industry
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated leadership application.
- Experience with purchase order management.
- Experience in leveraging 3rd party contractor support to supplement business needs
- High computer literacy and with confidence and skill working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint,) and familiarity with Raytheon systems (PRISM, PDM, VBS)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
- Knowledge of Supplier Quality Engineering
- Certification in Six Sigma, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ)
