Department Overview:

Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is looking for an Senior Principle Engineer, with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) experience, to support next generation propulsion programs.  The candidate will be responsible for creation of SysML models in an MBSE framework, and the accomplishment of systems engineering tasks leveraging these models. 

This position provides the opportunity to be involved with the digital transformation for future military propulsion programs. This position requires participation in customer and/or program technical reviews. 

Candidates will be required to help analyze requirements, define logical architectures, define verification attributes and work with other supporting IPTs to synthesize information.  Interested candidates should have some background in systems engineering and/or design and integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools to efficiently model systems.
  • Defining system architecture, deriving requirements, developing Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Interface with team leads, team members, and other teams (Software and Hardware) on a daily basis.
  • Helping to coordinate the implementation of Model Based Definition (MB-Def) on the program amongst stakeholders from engineering, operations and manufacturing.
  • Communicate with parties within and outside of own organization
  • Participates in customer and/or program technical review presentations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and minimum 8 years of experience or a Master's degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering using SysML and preferably Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Model Based Definition, Manufacturing & Inspection practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • US Citizenship required as only US Citizens are able to obtain security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with a variety of different CIPTs and module centers teams
  • Experience in Cameo Systems Modeler
