Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer providing enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration support to an operational government customer within the Intelligence Community. This position manages moderately sized projects or processes with minimal oversight and provides measurable input to new products, processes, or standards in operational plans in order to implement customer integrations and/or objectives. The position works in a SCIF environment with flexible work hours to accommodate work/life balance practices.

  • This position is an onsite role – Near Springfield, Virginia

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • The Principal Systems Engineer provides systems engineering and integration support to assess, plan, coordinate, schedule and implement projects from inception through system transition.
  • Problems and issues faced can fluctuate and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem and determine the appropriate resolution. 
  • This position communicates with many levels of program, other contractor and government stakeholders and works to positively guide parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are necessary to effectively manage projects in this environment.
  • A key purpose of this position is to manage system integration projects and provide reliable data to the Customer enabling them to make informed decisions regarding the installation, integration checkout and test of operational system modifications and upgrades.

Basic Qualifications: 

Employment is contingent upon contract award, customer funding, upon acceptance by the customer and/or meeting customer sustainability; planned for December 2023 – February 2024.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Systems installation, integration, and test experience.
  • Excellent Systems Engineering technical abilities and project management skills.
  • Requirements analysis demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team environment (Government, Military, SETA, and Contractor) Skill needed RFC impact review and assessment experience.
  • Understanding of cross site and enterprise level planning and implementation practices
  • A broad knowledge of project management
  • An active and in-scope TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced with Customer NSIS and/or rapid delivery methods.
  • Evidence of excellent customer relationships
  • Experience working across contract and location boundaries.
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence beneficial
